Churchill on Writing

I’m delighted that my new book is published. It’s really quite a process. Here’s what the ‘Great Man’ had to say about writing .

‘Writing a long and substantial book is like having a companion at your side to whom you can always turn to for comfort and amusement, and whose society becomes more attractive as a new and widening field of interest is lighted in the mind.’ (Churchill to the Canadian Author’s Association, 1949)

‘Writing a book is like an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement; then it becomes a mistress, and then it becomes a master, and then a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster, and fling him out to the public’.

I’m currently looking for my next ‘adventure’. I have something in mind but I’m open to suggestions.
