In the morning I’ll be travelling to Amsterdam to Chair the Future of Insurance conference.
It’s a star insurance line-up over two days. As Chairman it will take up a lot of my energy, and there’s been lots of preparation, but I know it will be both insightful and enjoyable. Hopefully I might even get some time to see the city.
This event, which is particularly european-focussed, holds special interest to me. In 2014, I was approached by Wiley to write my first book ‘Analytics for Insurance’ which set in train a new facet of my career, that of writing.
The European market has particular opportunities and challenges, not least those of the matter of over-penetration of insurance in the region. Insurance also is going through a transformation from being reactive to being proactive, as far as practically possible.
But imagine going to an event which might set you as a company on a new, forward- thinking strategy. And also made you think about what you need to do, as an individual, to get ready for that future?
