There is sometimes a certain spirituality about writing, be it either a book or a blog.
The reason he (Ted Chiang, the Sci Fi author) writes, he says, is because it is (for him) an imperative. By this,I think he means a compulsion. I know how he feels.
Chiang quotes writer Annie Dillard who said:
‘There’s something you find interesting, for a reason hard to explain. It is hard to explain because you have never read it on any page; there you begin. You were made and sent here to give voice to this, your own astonishment’.
